Similarly, we need a firm foundation built on a correct understanding of who Christ is and what He came to do. John 1 is part of the prologue and opening of this letter. Here John is reminding them church of what he and they have seen. Through Jesus, a new kind of relationship had begun with God. This is the true gift of Christmas. Its reality completes our joy.
