We're finally back in Japan and started our Tokyo trip with a calm and cozy day around Nakameguro, Daikanyama, and Ebisu - charming neighborhoods located just outside Shibuya.
We walked along the Meguro River, explored quiet residential streets, browsed boutiques, and tried popular food and coffee spots throughout the area. After a warm bowl of white curry udon in Ebisu, we ended our night at Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, a beautiful and tranquil contrast to its busy daytime crowd.
This is the first day of our 10-day Tokyo itinerary in early November during our Japan autumn trip.

Areas we enjoyed exploring:
• Nakameguro: a mix of quiet residential streets, mid to high-end shops, and plenty of coffee and food spots
• Daikanyama: filled with boutiques, lifestyle stores, and beautiful storefronts, especially at night
• Ebisu: wider roads and more high-rise buildings, but still calmer than Shibuya or Shinjuku
• Night-time Asakusa: less crowded, with a distinct traditional atmosphere
Shops and places we visited:
• Traveler's Factory: a great stationery store focused on notebooks and journaling accessories
• Coverchord: a well-curated clothing, accessories, and lifestyle store
• Late-night Sensoji Temple: quiet, atmospheric, and completely different from the daytime
• Tsutaya Books Daikanyama: a stunning three-building bookstore complex
• Aesop Daikanyama: beautifully designed interior with their full fragrance and skincare line
• Nonfiction: a popular Korean perfume brand with a sleek, inviting storefront
Food and coffee recommendations:
• Shodai: great-tasting white curry udon that’s balanced and creamy
• Sidewalk Stand: good coffee with a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a quick riverside break
• Omusubi Gottsu Tabena Hare: tasty onigiri with generous fillings and toppings
• I'm Donut ?: soft and fluffy pumpkin donuts, worth trying if there’s minimal queue
• Onibus Coffee: the coffee is okay, but its location by the train tracks makes it great for train-watching
