Paneer Curry / Gravy is one of the dish in our day today life. Cottage cheese curry is one dish that is an extremely popular Indian curry. In this video, I have explained how to cook paneer gravy without oil. It really helps in weight loss.
Health Benefits:
Using paneer made from skimmed milk at home will further reduce the calories from fat keeping the protein content intact. Normally in restaurants, this dish is made with plenty of ghee /butter, a large chunk of nut paste (almond or cashew) plus a dollop of fresh cream added towards the end to make the recipe even richer.
In this recipe we are not using any oil. The small quantity of cashewnuts are enough to provide the rich creamy restaurant taste without the added calories from fat.
Ingredients
Onion Big - 2 nos
Tomato - 2 nos
Cashew nuts - 10
Garlic - 6 cloves
Ginger - 1 inch
Capsicum - 1
Small onion - 4
Salt as needed
Water: 1 cup
Kashmiri chilli powder: 2 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric : 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder: 1 tsp
Paneer: 200 gms
Curry leaves: 1 sprig
Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp, chopped
Preparation Method:
1.To prepare low-fat restaurant-style paneer gravy, start adding cashews, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, and onions in a cooker.
2. Add one cup of water and close the cooker. Allow it to cook for 5 whistles.
3. Let it cool completely and transfer the contents into a mixer/blender. Then grind the boiled ingredients into a fine paste.
4. Pour the fine paste puree into a heating pan and start cooking.
5. Add Kashmiri chilli powder, Coriander powder, Turmeric, Cumin powder, Garam Masala, and the required amount of salt. Combine all the spices and stir well.
6. Then add chopped Capsicum, 4 small onions, Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes.
7. After 10 minutes of cooking add 200 grams paneer into the gravy and cook for another 10 minutes.
8. Finally add some Curry leaves and Coriander leaves. Turn off the stove and keep the gravy in the same pan for 5 minutes then transfer it into a serving bowl.
9. Now our delicious panner curry is ready to taste.
