​🌲 Redwoods, Seafood, and 🍽️ Camping Dinner | CA Road Trip Day 3

Описание: ​Welcome back to our California coastal adventure!

Day 3 took us from the ocean cliffs to the deep, silent redwood forest. We started our morning at Islay Creek Campground in Los Osos with our usual coffee ritual and a full breakfast before hitting the road for a shorter drive day (only four hours!).

​🌊 Coastal Highlights
​Spooner's Cove:
Our first stop was this amazing beach area, which we'd seen from the cliffs yesterday. We spent time exploring the tide pools and admiring the stunning rock formations!
​Morro Bay: A quick necessary detour to see the renowned Morro Rock, but our true mission was a success: seeing the cute otters! 🦦

​Moss Landing Lunch,
To avoid road closures, we went inland and took the 101 up to Moss Landing to stretch our legs. We grabbed some delicious clam chowder to go from Sea Harvest restaurant and enjoyed it with a cold beer by the yacht club. 🍻

​🏞️ Into the Redwoods,
​Our final destination for the day was Portola Redwoods State Park and Campground. This campground is absolutely stunning, surrounded by giant, established redwood trees. After setting up camp (Site 42!), we took an easy and gorgeous hike on the Slate Creek Trail. It felt like we had the entire majestic forest to ourselves!
​We wrapped up the day with a hearty dinner of grilled chicken, vegetable pasta, salad, and bread. The night sky was clear, and we got the kind of deep, restorative sleep only possible when surrounded by giant redwoods.
