I am starting this short walking tour close from the old textile factory Cromford then taking a quick stroll through the beautiful surrounding nature and heading then to the Medieval Water Castle / Wasserburg Haus zum Haus. I am walking right through the Water Castle before I take my final steps. The house to the house is a water castle coming from the 13-th century in the Angerbach in Ratingen. The water castle was established around 1276 as a family seat of the nobility gender „vom Haus“ and was a part of a row of defensive arrangements along the Anger, the so-called "Angerlinie".

The textile Factory Cromford in Ratingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany was built in 1783 by Johann Gottfried Brügelmann. It was the first cotton spinning mill on the European mainland. Today it is an industrial museum specialising in textile history.
