English translation included. The source DVD had the wrong aspect ratio, with everyone and everything appearing as way too thin. That's why I stretched it out to 688x480 rather than the usual 640x480 for upload here. To see what I mean, go to the RCA circle at 1:31 and see it's round (or close to it) at this resolution, as it's supposed to be. At the more 'normal' 640x480 it's an obvious oval, and it may still be slightly oval shaped. The fools that did this should have done it correctly even if it meant adding black bars above and below. Since they used a VHS tape as a source for the retail DVD, they probably didn't create the mess to begin with but only continued it. Madhubala is a lot of things, but one thing she's not is skinny. Dilip Kumar was slender when young, but not emaciated.
In addition, there were problems with the audio here and there. Some sections were way too quiet to be heard. Raising their volume sometimes made it understandable. Other times raising the volume made it 'hollow' or 'breathy' sounding. It didn't last for long but there are lots of places where it happens. I decided having more-or-less normal volume audio - even if it sounded distorted - was preferable to not being able to hear it at all.
This plot summary is from the IMDB page about the film:

A young doctor returning home from abroad is stranded in a village as his plane develops trouble and crashes. He meets and falls in love with a beautiful local village girl, who happens to be the daughter of his blind host. The romance is not looked upon by the villagers, especially one particular villager who is courting her himself. He hatches a plot to drive the doctor out of the village and in the process defiles the girl's character. The lovers are separated and the doctor, due to a misleading event, believes his sweetheart to be dead and resigns himself to a dejected life and a loveless marriage. The girl, meanwhile, loses her father in a fire, and sets out in search of her separated lover.
