In 2017, I received my tracheostomy tube. When I was released from the hospital, I was told I had to suction my tracheostomy tube as part of my airway management protocol. I tried suctioning, but I absolutely hated it. I thought there has to be a different way to manage my airway. I searched online and found an amazing research paper written by a respiratory therapist. Using the information the respiratory therapist found, I stopped suctioning and found a different way to manage my airway. #lifewithavent #trachtube #suctioning
