For centuries, Waiʻanae (Waianae) Valley has been a sacred landscape—home to temples, kalo terraces, and the stories of kupuna (elders). Today, fire threatens what remains.
In this short documentary, a new generation of stewards from Kaʻala (Kaala) Farm embarks on a two-day huakaʻi (journey) with archaeologist and historian Dr. Ross Cordy. Their mission: to learn how to protect ancient Hawaiian cultural sites while preparing the land for fire prevention and ecological restoration.
Join us as we explore the moʻolelo (stories) of this wahi pana (sacred place) and witness the connection between cultural preservation and modern-day fire mitigation. This is the story of aloha ʻāina (love of the land) in action.
