9 in 1 - Monsoon Railfanning At Kanhe & Kamshet | Diesel & Electric Action | Mumbai Pune Trains
Monsoons are upon us! Now is the time to really explore and capture these beasts at nature's prettiest. Today we head near Lonavala to experience the monsoon. First up at Kanhe, this was the first time for me, I quite liked the curve at one end and the long straight at the other end. It made for some lovely captures. Then we head off to Kamshet, curves at both ends making for some superb viewing. It's an amazing experience to just watch the trains at the riverside as they curve in and out of Kamshet. Although this time around the speed limits seems to have fallen to 75kph from the previous 90kph limit. Never the less an enjoyable experience.
As far as the trains go, the absence of WCAMs meant some roaring diesel action. Pune's WDP-4D hauling the Sinhagad Express honked beautifully as it came around the curve at Kanhe. The Deccan Queen rocked up at Kamshet with Bhusawal's WAP-4 sporting a disappointing mismatched livery. Even the dining car was replaced by CR Rajdhani's Pantry car. The rest came with our white stallion, WAP-7.
I hope you enjoy this compilation. I know I haven't posted much lately, apologies for that. I'm hoping to make up for it this monsoon season with more railfanning sessions and also some beautiful train journeys. Watch this space!
