With a community of over 1 million local parents, VancouverMom.ca is a top source for information, support and expert knowledge for parents in Metro Vancouver. We’ve held events, chatted on social media and shared hundreds of posts on our website.

Being a Vancouver Mom throughout a pandemic has changed us all. Many moms are carrying the weight of their families, supporting their communities and reckoning the challenges marginalized groups face around the world. We wanted to encapsulate those experiences, to acknowledge the load and offer something inspiring and hopeful. Over the coming weeks, we’re thrilled to share with you, As a Mother.

Over eight interviews you’ll hear stories of advocacy and courage. You’ll see visions of triumph and joyful movement. From dreaming to creating, leading, juggling, empowering and caretaking, each story is unique and encouraging. Every mom in Vancouver has a story to tell and we’re delighted to bring eight of these stories to your screens and into your earbuds. These stories touch all of us.

The project is partially funded by a Government of Canada Heritage grant which supports communities through arts and heritage and made possible in part by the Government of Canada. All videos are thoughtfully filmed and produced by Kahani Pictures. Together, we’ve brought these stories to life.
