Day 3 Roncesvalles to Urdaniz – Rolling Hills & Ancient Villages!

Описание: I began my day in Roncesvalles, surrounded by its noteworthy Monastery and the placid atmosphere of this pilgrim hub. Leaving the village, the path took me through dense forests and rolling hills, with the occasional glimpse of quaint Basque villages in the distance. I passed through Burguete, a charming town renowned for its traditional Basque architecture, and Espinal, where the trail started to climb more steadily.

As I walked, I passed through Bizkarreta, a small hamlet with a relaxed vibe, and then Lintzoain, where I was greeted by narrow streets lined with stone houses. The landscape was peaceful, with fresh air and scenic views of valleys and farmlands. The journey was longer today, with steady climbs and descents through picturesque valleys and forests.

Finally, I reached Urdaniz, a small, welcoming village where I could rest and reflect on the 24.1 kilometers I had just walked. With 749 kilometers left to Santiago, today’s stretch was both challenging and rewarding, blending nature, history, and beautiful Basque towns along the way.
