The Castellows - Love Is A Game (unreleased), Archer Music Hall, Allentown, PA

Описание: The Castellows treat us fans with unreleased new songs all the time :) Like this new unreleased song "Love Is A Game". I saw this title on a setlist in Oklahoma a while back. And ‪@thecastellows‬ released a teaser on Instagram too. It's a cool one.

I made a playlist of other unreleased songs (some released now) that we got to hear first as acoustic arrangements and then as full band arrangements:    • Castellows Unreleased Songs - Miss America...   - there are some sweet original songs there like I Was Born With A Shotgun In My Hand and Cowgirl Blues.

"Love Is A Game" has a nice groove, a sweet melody in the chorus IMHO. Great dynamics too.

Do go see ‪@thecastellows‬ perform live. It's always a peach-perfect performance just like this. Never the same show twice. Their harmonies are so sweet, just like in this song. They play tender original ballads like Broke and Sober Sundays and many bangers / rocking numbers too.

This was The Castellows' first show in Pennsylvania BTW. The Archer Music Hall, actually the cozier, smaller Arrow room was a great venue for sound and lighting. Notice none of the ladies are wearing cowboy hats which makes them easier to see. Sometimes (Tulips in Fort Worth, Stage 12 in College Station, or Key Bank Centre in Buffalo) lighting can cast shadows and the artists with hats look like they are in witness protection in the shadows :) Not here!!!

The lyrics go "Love is a game and I don't wanna play anymore". Ellie shared at the first show of the tour that she had a break-up and sang a solo song about it called Did You Forget. Singing about relationships and break-ups can be cathartic of course. We've all been there - for example, this was a song I wrote for a friend at work who was getting divorced:    • Blue Eyes Something About You (Acoustic) -...   (one take acoustic live),    • Blue Eyes Something About You - Original S...   (multi-track with a wooden frog participating, double-tracking and harmonies). Another example - my highschool GF dumped me in grade 12 but then looked me up on Facebook almost 40 years later to catch up! I wrote this song about the letters she seemed to forget about:    • These Letters - original song by Robert Mu...   ... ya I know nobody writes letters anymore but it was the mid 80's. The lines about her leaving her dog with me is about a small stuffed dog named Droopy she gave me - I returned Droopy when we connected after 40 years :)
