Pucci Amanda Jhones is a captivating performer who tells a story through song. Having shared bandstands with such greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Kenny Barron, Freddie Hubbard, Jacky Terrasson, Freddie Cole, Cindy Blackman Santana, Reggie Workman and Roy Hargrove she is a well-respected vocalist who has performed internationally from Kuala Lumpur to Athens, Istanbul, Tokyo and Bangkok, while in New York she has worked Feinstein’s, the Blue Note, Kitano, the Lenox Lounge and Central Park. Her original voice takes liberties with tempos and lines, while maintaining the integrity of the composition.
Presented with the Jazz Foundation of America, supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
