I’m back in Kampot for a short stay and arrive at the perfect time — harvest season at the famous salt fields.
From ground level and from the air, the geometric patterns of the Kampot Salt Fields are incredible. Workers are out collecting the salt, and the entire landscape transforms into a patchwork of white and reflective water.
Later, I head to the new tourist ferry port that was built but never officially opened — a strange sight sitting quietly on the coastline.
The day ends properly with a well-earned pint in one of my favourite restaurants in the city centre.
