In this video, we take you to the Yogmaya Temple, also known as Jogmaya Temple, located in Mehrauli, New Delhi, near the famous Qutb Complex. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Yogmaya, who is also considered the sister of Lord Krishna, taking avatar as Vindhyavasini.

Yogmaya Temple is one of the 27 temples destroyed during the Mamluk period, but it is the only surviving pre-sultanate temple in Delhi still in use. The temple was later reconstructed by Hindu king Samrat Vikramaditya Hemu, bringing it back from ruins. During Aurangzeb’s reign, a rectangular Islamic-style hall was added to the structure. While the original 300–200 BCE architecture could never be fully restored, the temple has been repeatedly rebuilt and maintained by the locals, preserving its spiritual and cultural legacy over centuries.
