Sketchbook review from my plein air winter landscapes last November to January. Using a vareity of media I love sketching outdoors in all weathers. This was a square format small scale sketchbook that had basic cartridge paper.
It was able to handle charcoal, graphite, gouache, water colour and casein paints in damp, cold plein air conditions.
I really enjoy looking back through all my sketchbooks. They give me ideas for painting landscapes and they are a great way to experiment with new materials. This is how I discovered casein paints which I find very versatile when used outdoors and mixed with other media.
