This half-minute (!!!) prelude is one of the most difficult and intense of the set. I love the 14, 15, and 16 sandwich, which I will upload at the end of this month for my birthday!
Hans von Bülow called this Prelude a "stormy sea," Alfred Cortot called it "Fear," and Jim McCormick calls it "wild wind over a gravestone." If you listen, there is a melodic line within the chaos. The pedaling and dynamics were incredibly challenging.
