Process landsat bands
Combine bands
Use raster calculator to compute the radio index
Use the built-in function in the ArcGIS to compute the index
NBI (Normalized burnt index)
NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)
NDMI (Normalized Difference Moisture Index)
Land Surface temperature (Already in the playlist) and surface soil moisture index
True color in Landsat 8 is (4-3-2) bands
NBI (Normalized burnt index)
Float (Band 5 – Band 7) / Float (Band 5 + Band 7)
NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)
Float (Band 5 – Band 4) / Float (Band 5 + Band 4)
NDMI (Normalized Difference Moisture Index)
Float (Band 5 – Band 6) / Float (Band 5 + Band 6)
Surface soil moisture index (this require the LST first)
SMI = Float (LST max – LST)/(LST max – LST min)
For example:
The LST max is 39
The LST min is 0.25
SMI = Float(39-”LST Raster”)/(39-0.25)
