Itinerary:
This video covers the last day of a six day backpacking trip of an extended version of the Villarrica Traverse itinerary which also included the ascent to the Quetrupillán Volcano from Laguna Azul and the out and back hike to the Mirador Volcán Quinquilil (Colmillo del Diablo) from the Puesco Trailhead on the last day.

Day 6: Puesco trailhead (Villarrica Traverse Camping) to the Mirador Volcán Quinquilil (Colmillo del Diablo) out and back. Las Avutardas Trail and Cerro Quinquilil Trail.

The hike to the Mirador Volcan Quinquilil (Colmillo del Diablo) from the Puesco Trailhead is an on-trail route.

Notes about the map: the map is indicative of the trip itinerary although mileage and moving time cannot be considered as reference as I often deviated from the route for filming and photography; also the moving time on the map includes all stops and breaks during the day as I stop recording only once camp was setup for each day.


Hiking Notes:
The final day of my Villarrica Traverse itinerary was an enjoyable and easy hike to the view point / Mirador Volcán Quinquilil (Colmillo del Diablo) from the camp (Villarrica Traverse Camping) of the Puesco Trailhead. Quinquilil is an extinct stratovolcano, in fact it is also known as Cerro Quinquilil. The trail to the view point climbs up through forest and finally above the tree line. From there the rocky Quinquilil can be admired from close distance. Despite its relatively modest elevation Cerro Quinquilil can be easily spotted from distance (e.i. on the Villarrica Traverse route) because of its unmistakable rock formation silhouette. From the view point / Mirador it is also possible to enjoy a very close view of the mighty Lanin Volcano and the surrounding mountains. A very enjoyable hike to conclude the magnificent Villarrica Traverse.
