On February 5, 2002, funeral home director Daniel O'Connell and mortuary science intern James Ellison were found shot to death at O'Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Police investigated for 2 years, interviewing almost 2,000 people - but never caught a break.

In 2004, officers received a report that Catholic priest, Ryan Erickson had given teens alcohol and abused them during his time in Hudson. When police questioned him about the report, he let key information slip about the murders that had never been shared with the public.
