Tyler Pounds Regional Airport (TYR) is a medium-sized airport located west of the city of Tyler, Texas. It serves as the regional air transportation center for this primarily rural portion of the state. General and business aviation, along with some air carrier and military flights, make up the majority of the traffic. The airport configuration consists of three runways. The primary runway is intersected by two smaller runways. The taxiway system provides access to the air carrier ramp located on the west side of the airport, as well as the businesses and hangars found to the north and east. This video prepares pilots for hot spots, challenges and runway configuration details at TYR.
The FAA's From the Flight Deck video series uses aircraft-mounted cameras to capture runway and taxiway footage and combines them with diagrams and visual graphics to clearly identify hot spots and other safety-sensitive items. Learn more at https://www.faa.gov/FromTheFlightDeck
