Old And Historical Sangni Fort Of Tehsil Gujar Khan In District Rawalpindi Pakistan

Описание: In this video we will show you 300 years old, historical “Sangni Fort” which is situated on a mountain cliff linked between 2 streams in the forest. Natural deep ditches and streams are present around 3 sides of this historical fort. This old fort was constructed to keep prisoners in Mughal Era. Than this fort had reconstructed in Sikh Rule. The fortress was built between 1823 and 1825 on the confluence of two hill streams or rivulets, hence the word Sangni was derived from the word Sangam meaning the confluence of two rivulets which came to be known as Sangni over a period of time. The main entrance gate of the fortress opens to the east from where one can see as far as the Takkal village, steps lead to the inside of the fortress. Located inside the fortress is the shrine of Sahibzada Abdul Hakeem alias Cheeray Wali Sarkar whose ancestors are believed to have come from Arabia via Iran to preach in Chakrali Budhal in Gujar Khan Tehsil. He was a deputy of Haji Murid Khan alias Baga Sher whose shrine is located at Darkali Sharif in Kallar Syedan Tehsil in Rawalpindi district. Haji Murid Khan was from a Gakhar tribe and was a deputy of Pira Shah Ghazi Qalandar Damri Wali Sarkar whose shrine is located at Khari Sharif in Mirpur district in Azad Kashmir. After that a Shrine of Darvesh had become inside this fort. This is very interesting and amazing story. Green lush views, hills and a flowing water cascade present a beautiful aspect around this fort. In Potohar region there are many big and small forts present but this fort has a tremendous importance due to the Shrine of Sufi Saint. Famous Sufi Saint of Potohar region Sahibzada Abdul Hakeem worshiped in this fort than the Sikhs got permission from Sahibzada Abdul Hakeem to reconstruct this fort. He gave permission and said that this is his fort and when he will want he will come here. This reconstruction of this historical fort started between 1823 to 1825 than Sahibzada Abdul Hakeem had made abode a village Chakrali of Potohar region. Than after his death his Shrine was made here. But after 50 years Sahibzada Abdul Hakeem met the people of Sui Cheemain in their dream and said that took him in Sangni Fort. Therefore after 50 years his disinter had done and offered funeral prayer again and buried him inside this Sangni Fort. The shrine of Sahibzada Abdul Hakeem attracts hundreds of people every Thursday and Friday. Another tradition is that this fort was constructed by Baba Khem Singh Bedi but the most historians agree that this ancient fort was constructed by the Mughals. According to some traditions that this fort was reconstructed by Hindu Governor Gulab Singh of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Maharaja Ranjit Singh reconstructed this fort to collect Tax and to perform administrative affairs beside to keep prisoners. This fort has 5 towers in which 4 towers are big while one is small. An ancient method to get drinking water implement here till today. The local bricks and lime was used for the construction of This Sangni Fort which presents the best architecture style of that era. This fort is in good condition after many earthquakes, rains and natural disasters. Sangni fort or Sangni Killa which is located about 25 KM north of Gujar Khan town, is the most impressive and famous in the entire Gujar Khan Tehsil in Rawalpindi district. It is easily approachable from Kallar Syedan town than Gujar Khan. It is located about 11 km east of Tehsil Kallar Syedan town and 3 km east of Chakrali Budhal village in Gujar Khan Tehsil.
