Описание: Time. It has no end and no beginning. It's always been. This piece is a representation of that eternal nature. Chronos is the Greek word for the personification of time. You'll hear the classic Westminster bell tower chime all throughout the whole piece. You'll hear some borrowed melodies from Coldplay's 'Clocks' and Enya's 'Only Time.' This piece all different facets of time, the joys and the sorrows. I wanted to leave the different styles throughout the piece up to interpretation. This piece includes the physical mechanical elements of time like clocks and bells, but also the mental and conceptual dimensions. The piece sometimes feels like a mechanical slowdown, and then back into a start-up. I added two sets of chimes for this, as well as many external instruments like E. Horn, Eb Clarinet, the contras, and the soprano sax.

It starts with a mysterious beginning section, leading into a joyous fanfare and into a whimsical journey through time. We then head into a slower meditative section. After that is a fast paced ride through space and time! A huffing and puffing slowdown into a chorale with the high winds followed by the alto and tenor brass. A dying horn solo leads us into a reprise of the earlier fast section, with just a hint of a flute solo melody from the much earlier whimsical part. We then end the piece with sporadic chimes while the winds build up in 3rds until all 12 notes are played at once. 12 notes, 12 hours on the clock, 12 months, this number holds time together.
