Описание: While permanent housing is the goal, some people need flexible, supportive options that meet them where they’re at. This session explores three transitional housing models that take a rights-based, person-centered approach—focusing on dignity and autonomy, not “readiness.” You’ll hear about a program that integrates Indigenous healing and community connections to support people facing mental health and substance use challenges; a model that uses occupancy agreements to provide stability while respecting individual choice; and a youth-focused program that offers scattered-site housing, optional life skills supports, and financial flexibility to ease the transition to permanent housing. Together, these approaches challenge outdated notions of who is “ready” for housing and offer thoughtful, compassionate pathways rooted in respect, choice, and care.
