Victims of the 2006 Sabaot Land Defense Force atrocities in Mt Elgon Bungoma County have faulted the national government as well as the county government of Bungoma for allegedly failing to compensate them after they were injured, lost their property as well as losing their loved ones during the skirmishes. The victims are currently wallowing in abject poverty as well as healing the scars of the aftermath of the violence that left 600 people dead. Timothy Kipnusu was in Mt Elgon to find out how the victims are coping with life 18 years after militia was quashed by the military.
