A bike ride from Simikot (Humla) to Khalanga (Darchula)
in late 2025 follows one of Nepal's most extreme and rewarding off-road frontiers. This journey connects the remote northwest corner of the Karnali province with the far-western Mahakali border.
You likely navigated raw, unpaved tracks that have only recently become motorable. The route typically involves descending from the high-altitude Simikot (2,950m) toward the Karnali River, then heading west across the rugged mountains of Bajhang and Baitadi to reach Darchula Khalanga.
