Описание: Hello and welcome. In this weeks video I will be using a woodturning lathe to make a lidded box from one of the hardest woods in the world, African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon).

On a recent trip to the timber merchants I saw this beautiful piece of wood for sale. Originally prepared to make a clarinet bell (the horny bit at the bottom) however, what I saw trapped inside was this droplet box.

Shaped, sanded, polished with Yorkshire grit and oiled with flaxseed to finish.

03:13 - Forming a tenon on the base and parting it off
