Описание: Welcome, ROTTMNT-lovers and otherwise, to my long-awaited Rise Raph Tribute!! 🎉❤️🐢😄 (ok, maybe not ‘long-awaited’ for most of you, but this project idea has been in my head for MONTHS PEOPLE!!) I very much enjoyed fitting events from the show into the flow of Raph’s story with this song (which is absolutely freaking perfect for him, right??!), as well as diving into some head canons of my own. 😉⬇️

One of my biggest ROTTMNT head canons is that Raph has some form of general anxiety disorder. This is something I deal with myself, and I just feel like I see a lot of my own symptoms in Raph. I imagine he hid away from his brothers when he cried as a kid so as not to make them feel worried like he did when they cried. I also included nightmares of him losing his brothers as well as hints towards the general idea that he felt he’s ’not enough’ for them. At the very least, we all know he had a tough time letting go of the need to fix everything by himself, which is also my source of anxiety.
I set very high standards for myself, expecting to handle everything to 110% quality all the time. When I make a mistake, I get extremely frustrated, almost like I’m ‘in disbelief of my own incompetence.’ For a long time, I didn’t even know this about myself until God was able to open my eyes to how I was failing to give myself grace. I have since grown in my journey with my anxiety, and I have God and many others to thank for that.
All of this to say, I see myself in Raph in SO many ways. We’re both oldest siblings, we both have youthful/playful personalities, we’re both happy to stop everything to help someone, and we both struggle with needing to handle our anxiety on our own.
The message of this animatic that I hope to portray is that strength isn’t about your ability to handle everything on your own, but instead it’s a measure of how far you’re willing to go to accomplish your goals. Everyone needs help sometimes, everyone needs breaks sometimes, and being strong doesn’t mean ignoring your needs. It means not giving up on what matters. It’s acknowledging the people around you and knowing that you alone will never be strong enough. But that’s just it… anatawa hitori janai… you are never alone. ❤️

If you are someone who’s on the fence about pursuing a relationship with God, I implore you, read the gospels. Ask someone your questions about Christianity. Don’t be afraid to try learning what it’s all about. Understand that no Christian perfectly represents His love, as we are all broken people. He is the only One who does not let you down. I promise, He’s never left you. His name is written in your DNA and spoken through your breath, for he lovingly created each one of us. It is through art and being creative ourselves that we can taste a fraction of His joy in us. Seek Him, and He will ALWAYS answer. ✝️❤️
