I’m often asked what one piece of equipment clients should invest in for their home practice. I recommend these small Pilates balls without hesitation.
They are so adaptable and can be used in pretty much every position on the mat or equipment. And at around £7 or $10 each, they are affordable too. I’ve got hundreds of variations with these portable little accessories.
These are invaluable for my Hypermobile clients because they give feedback, support and build proprioception. With the ball, you can sense alignment of joints and you will receive feedback if that alignment slips. It will also help engage muscles that maybe haven’t been used to working.
Their unstable nature forces the deep stabilising muscles to work which is exactly what the Hypermobile body needs most. Leave me a comment on your favourite small ball exercise.
