What does Acts 1:6 really mean when the disciples ask Jesus about restoring Israel? In this Acts Bible study, we explore Restoration Eschatology—connecting Acts 1:6–8 with Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Romans 9–11 to uncover God’s plan for Israel, the Church, and the nations.
In this Acts Bible study taught by Allen Crostic, we dig deep into Acts 1:6–8 and the disciples’ question to Jesus: “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” What did they mean by “restoration”? Were they wrong to ask—or were they actually connecting Jesus’ words about the Holy Spirit with Old Testament promises of Israel’s renewal?
We’ll explore how Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 36–37, and Deuteronomy 30 all point to God’s promise of a new covenant, new hearts, and the Spirit poured out on His people. We’ll also look at Paul’s teaching in Romans 9–11—including the mystery of the fullness of the Gentiles and what Paul means when he says “all Israel will be saved.”
This session tackles key questions:
How does the restoration of Israel connect to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2?
Are “Israelite” and “Jew” the same thing—or is there a difference?
What does Paul mean by “all Israel” in Romans 11:26?
How do Gentiles fit into God’s covenant promises?
Whether you’re studying the Book of Acts, wrestling with eschatology, or seeking clarity on the relationship between Israel, the Church, and the nations, this teaching will give you a biblical framework rooted in the prophets and the apostles.
