Mute Swan and Cygnets at Pont Pen-y-llyn in Llanberis, North Wales (Including VERY Close Encounter)

Описание: This was from a recent trip to the Pont Pen-y-llyn end of Llyn Padarn, which is a huge lake in Llanberis, North Wales, and is popular with kayakers, canoeists, and paddleboarders.

I was unable to venture out onto the water (too slippy, no support, and no pontoon to transfer to the board), so I spent all my time waiting on the beach while friends and family were out on the paddleboard. I decided to spend my time filming the absolutely stunning Mute Swan that was bathing and teaching its young across the small bit of lake we were at.

Near the middle of the video, you can see the parent and cygnets come up close to us. We'd fired up a BBQ, and were actively cooking. When we turned around, the swans were walking up the small beach directly towards us.

We fed the adult swan and the cygnets the last of our bread rolls up close and personal. The adult swan was actively warning off, and hissing at other people trying to come close to us feeding them. It was extraordinary. They then went off on their way.

Bonus: if you pay attention to the video closely, you can see multiple Dragonflies and/or Damselflies skimming across the water among the regular flies.

It was amazing - avian dinosaurs up close.
