Boekbinder is a performer, composer, writer, and visual artist based in NYC. Her latest album is a musical exploration and call to the cosmos. Using sounds from space and scientific fact, she crafted a delicious pop album for the space age. Her music and art explores the intersection of culture and life. From protest songs to pop manifestos, from soft acoustic to banging electronica, she uses music to express what is often taboo or uncomfortable to speak about, calling listeners to participate in the adventure.
Her next musical project, Girl in the Strikezone, is a soon to be released collaboration with writer Warren Ellis -- a hallucination of the near future in which every citizen is the subject of drone devotions.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
