In this second of the videos on corporate strategy and taking a shareholder perspective of the responsibilities of a firm we look at how we can assess the scope of a organisation. Given the historically poor track record of diversification moves, to what extent should the firm diversify its activities to other business areas?
In this video we look at a framework called the 'Ashridge parenting matrix' that can be used to assess and challenge a firm's ownership of its business units. In the next we will provide an example of its practical application.
