Jeroen De Beer and Mark Templer set out to climb the world's "easiest" 7000 meter peak, Himlung Himal (7126 meters) in Manang, Nepal. They aimed to go to the roof of the world to help raise funds for HOPE worldwide's programs in Nepal, including the Asha Vidyashram School - which needs a new roof, windows, and toilets.

Jerry managed to summit the peak, while Mark reached 6,507 meters before turning back. We certainly did not think it was easy. The climb featured a tricky moraine en route to camp 1 at 5,400 meters; a steep, unstable, and narrow rocky bottleneck en route to camp 2 at 6,010 meters; and around 150 meters of 70 degree incline jumaring to reach the slopes of Himlung and camp 3 at 6,410 meters. As well as a seemingly endless summit push up more steep, icy slopes while being buffeted by high (60 kilometer) winds. Nonetheless, the entire expedition took us through wonderfully beautiful scenery. Absolutely incredible.
