Der Geher in Hamburg: Rahlstedt Nord

Описание: I am Der Geher and after a walk in the south of Rahlstedt, I am now heading to the north of the district. Starting in the pedestrian zone, I head north along Oldenfelder Straße. Along Wolliner Straße you reach the Matthias Claudius Church. Now head north towards large apartment buildings and Greifenbergpark, where the path ends at a small pond.

After a very military period with the Boehn barracks, the Graf-Goltz barracks and a training area, the district developed into one of the most populated parts of Hamburg. Many people moved here, especially after the flood of 1962. The barracks were closed in the 1990s and the training area was turned into a nature reserve. Today, around 96,500 people live in the district.
