Der Geher in Hamburg: Rahlstedt Süd

Описание: I am Der Geher and I'm out and about in Rahlstedt today. Starting from the Alt-Rahlstedt church, I walk along the Wandse and through Liliencronpark. Small paths between residential buildings around Eilersweg lead to the "Our Heroes 1914 - 1918" memorial. Many more residential buildings along Sieker Landstraße later, the Green Fugue is reached. The path ends at the Merkur.

At 26.6 km², Rahlstedt is one of the largest districts and, with a reference from around 1212, also one of the oldest. The name refers to Radolf or Radulf, who founded the settlement. For a long time, Rahlstedt lay outside Hamburg under the control of Holstein or Denmark. In 1864 it became part of Prussia. The area developed into a villa suburb for wealthy merchants. Rahlstedt took on its present form in 1927 when various rural communities were merged.
