Mrs M and I made an early start to capture this first ever run of the LSL 'Blue Pullman's' first ever run to South Wales.With temperatures soaring up to 30 degrees Centigrade, we headed for our first planned location North of Abergavenny, unfortunately, due to massive road works along the Heads of the Valleys Road, we were delayed, and arrived at Abergavenny only to capture the first clip with camera held through a bush, disappointingly not seeing the full Blue set.
We then headed West back to Carmarthenshire, and recorded the train heading back to Preston along the Rural Central Wales Line, and what a rare sight that was. Unfortunately the Rail Charter services power car failed en route, leaving 43046 to do all the work from behind. Unfortunately, the train failed completely and Cynghordy on the climb to Sugar Loaf summit.
However we thoroughly enjoyed seeing this wonderful train for the first time in such glorious weather.
