Conditions were really nice for my snowshoe around Beaver Meadow in Morristown. Several days of a thaw/refreeze cycle created firm snowpack that made it easy to float on top in most places. As the trail climbed to higher elevations on the Beaver Meadow Loop Trail, there was enough powder to make the going—and the route-finding—a little tougher. I didn’t stop to do any filming between the Beaver Meadow Lodge and the end of the loop. It was getting late in the afternoon, and staying on trail was difficult, a challenge that would only have been compounded by running out of daylight. Stay tuned—I’m planning to return to the Beaver Meadow Loop Trail to show you some of the views we missed this time around.
