Target 1 Daily Triumph: Dr. Brynn's Brain-Based Productivity Boosters
We often over-estimate how much time, energy, willpower, stamina we will have during any given period of time: we tend to overestimate how much we can get done in one day, but underestimate how much we can get done in a whole week. This is why we create big long lists of 'to-dos' that never get done - we run out of willpower and energy long before we can complete all the tasks in a given day. The challenge with this method of doing things, is that we disappoint ourselves and create a void of motivation. This week, instead of a creating a long list of 'to-dos' everyday, target one daily triumph: what is the one thing you need to, want to, and can complete today? Targeting one major 'triumph' each day allows for better focus, clarity, prioritization, and cognitive deliberateness. Further, upon completion the surge of dopamine, serotonin, endorphins you get from having successfully completed your task serve to power you into greater challenges with more self-efficacy, excitement and motivation. So this week, determine and 'target one daily triumph'.
