Bad Commentaries: Richard Schickel’s “insights” on The Good The Bad And The Ugly

Описание: I discuss and present highlights from the notoriously bad Richard Schickel commentary for The Good The Bad And The Ugly. Normally, I don’t discuss bad commentaries in detail because it is an extremely difficult form of analysis that not everyone can do well. However, when you encounter such a frustratingly bad track and listen to it many times over the years it should be highlighted to separate the good commentaries from the bad ones.
Schickel’s commentaries are notorious for their difficulty to listen to, meandering sometimes condescending nature towards a film-not to mention the sheer volume of umms, uhhs, long pauses and opinionated statements. This is one of the first commentaries I ever listened to, and it has frustrated me since 2004.
Listening to it again on the arrow video release made me realize that if someone wanted to cut together all of the pointless parts of this track it would add up to a substantial amount. So that’s exactly what I did. This video is non-monetized, but is dedicated to everyone who’s ever had to suffer through a Schickel commentary.
