I used EZ Strip Paint & Varnish Stripper to refinish my interior wood stairs. This stripper has a low VOC skin safe removal formula to it was easy to use. You just require a little patience to complete. I let the stripper dwell for approx. 4 hours covered in plastic before the surface was ready to scrape off multiple layers of softened paint and varnish. I then scrubbed away any remaining paint with a heavy duty scrub pad and warm water. After surface completely dried I lightly sanded surface before finishing with a walnut stain. This was my first staircase refinish project and I really love the new look cause I did it!
