Описание: Hello! This is a showcase of the Ice Temple Mission 4 (Final Mission), "Rush Ahead! Don't Look Back!", in which we have to capture 1 Mareep and then fight the WORLD boss, the Crushing North Wind, Abomasnow!


As this serves as a walkthrough and guide, I will be splitting this description into chapters. These are: TIMESTAMPS, BEST POKEASSISTS, LEVEL BREAKDOWN, ENEMY AI BREAKDOWN, BOSS AI BREAKDOWN, and SHOULD YOU GRIND THIS?.

(note that the Assist level should always be at the recommended amount, while Recovery and Power are less important)

Abomasnow is another boss for which to optimize for burst damage. He is weak to both Steel and Fire, which we both have assists for! (Fire is more useful in the Thunder Temple.) Aggron does more damage than Magmar and is thus more recommended. Magmar's damage is still pretty high, though, especially with the super-effective multiplier, although he needs Assist Lv 4.

In order of what I recommend:
1ST: Aggron w/ [Assist Lv 3] [Recovery Lv 4, Power Lv 4]
2ND: Magmar w/ [Assist Lv 4] [Recovery Lv 4, Power Lv 4]
3RD: Pidgeot w/ [Assist Lv 3-4] [Recovery Lv 4, Power Lv 4]

-- LEVEL BREAKDOWN --
GOAL: We catch a Mareep at the start of the level, and just have to reach the end. Along the way there are aggressive Pokemon that need to be avoided.
FIRST ROOM: The time and speed boost are generated either at the top of the right platform or at the left of the middle platform. There is no fast strategy to check both of these spots, but the former is more common.
SECOND ROOM: There is a power-up in the top left which gives speed, but you have no need for it. Always try to make the bird Pokemon stuck on corners, or escape their range.
AMPHAROS ROOM: You can collect a huge amount of time without needing to fight any of the Ampharos. I showcase this in the video.

Overall an easy level!

-- ENEMY AI BREAKDOWN --
Generally, many enemies will follow this pattern (which becomes commonplace, going forward):
- - Move a few times, then use the ! attack.
- - SOMETIMES: Move a teeny amount and then use the ! attack again.
- - Move again.
- - Walk to the middle (good time for you to drop assist), then use the !! attack.
- - Move a teeny amount, then use the !!! attack.
- - Pause (good time for you to drop assist), then start over.

This is true for Primeape, Ambipom, and Dodrio. Pelipper is the only concerning exception (but is rarely generated at all).

Do not engage with Ampharos under any circumstance. It's an extremely tedious capture.

-- BOSS AI BREAKDOWN --
Abomasnow is a boss with 3 phases. Note that when he leaps, it makes shockwaves.

Regular Phase (0%-40%):
Abomasnow attacks in a pattern, which is as follows:
Moves to the middle.
(4 exclamation): Grows large ice spikes (4).
Random between these two options? (maybe it alternates, idk):
- - Moves 2 times, then (2 exclamation): Spews frosty breath, then moves 1 time.
- - Moves 3 times, then (1 exclamation): Circle of small spikes, then moves 0 times.
Repeats the pattern.

Rage Phase (starts at 50%):
Abomasnow attacks in a pattern, which is as follows (split for understanding):
Random attack from these options:
- - (1 exclamation): Circle of small spikes.
- - (2 exclamation): Spews frosty breath, then moves 1 time.
Moves to the middle.
(4 exclamation): Grows large ice spikes (4).
Leaps 4 times.
Moves to the middle.
(4 exclamation): Grows large ice spikes (8).
Repeats the pattern.

Composure Phase (40%-100%) (yes it starts early):
Abomasnow attacks in a pattern, which is as follows (split for understanding):
Moves to the middle.
(1 exclamation): Circle of small spikes, also creating large spikes (8 or 4).
Sometimes does that last attack again.
(4 exclamation): Grows large ice spikes (8 or 4).
Then, random attack from these options:
- - Leaps 2 times, then (2 exclamation): Spews frosty breath, then leaps 1 time.
- - Leaps 1 time, then (1 exclamation): Circle of small spikes, then leaps 2 times, then (1 exclamation): Circle of small spikes.
- - Leaps 1 time, then (1 exclamation): Circle of small spikes, then leaps 2 times.
- - Leaps 3 times, not performing any intermediary attack.
Repeats the pattern.

-- SHOULD YOU GRIND THIS? --
Yes, this is an easy level to grind that gives you tons of AP! Abomasnow is an amazing assist that does ridiculous damage, which is another incentive to grind it, although I will never require you to use boss assists in this guide.

In the fan-made Showdown server called Hoenn Gaiden, they added many things to their own version of Gen 3 OU. One of the additions is Abomasnow, who is insanely strong due to Snow Warning. It and Tyranitar are like tier kings.
