Steve here, better known as Stick Man Steve, and welcome back to Cruise Travel and Explore! 🌍✈️ Today, we’re diving into Day 2 of our amazing 15-day Marella Voyager adventure as part of the Tropical Delights and Paradise Islands itineraries. Buckle up for a jam-packed day in Castries, St Lucia, where we embarked on a stunning catamaran excursion that left us in awe! 🌊🐚

🚢 Our Day in Castries, St Lucia
Our ship docked early in the vibrant Castries Cruise Terminal. After a quick coffee on the promenade deck (Deck 6), Gemma and I were ready for the adventure we’d booked with Marella: Pigeon Island & Pitons Half Day Experience (£69 each, 6 hours).

🌟 Excursion Highlights:

1️⃣ Pigeon Island National Landmark
Aboard the 65ft Spirit of Carnival catamaran, we sailed along St Lucia’s stunning coastline, soaking in endless turquoise waters and palm-fringed beaches. Arriving at Pigeon Island Beach, we had just 25 minutes to explore, so we dashed off to the Pigeon Island National Trust area. 🏞️ We trekked to Fort Rodney, where the 360° views took our breath away. If you’re visiting, note that the trail is steep and not ideal for those with mobility issues.

2️⃣ The Pitons – St Lucia’s Icons
Next, the catamaran glided past the jaw-dropping Pitons, two volcanic spires rising majestically from the sea. Although we couldn’t get as close as we’d hoped, the sight was still mesmerising.

3️⃣ Anse Conchon Beach & Buffet Lunch
We anchored at the secluded Anse Conchon Beach for lunch and a refreshing swim. The buffet was fresh and delicious, and the beach? Absolute paradise – just our catamaran and untouched beauty. 🏖️✨

4️⃣ Marigot Bay
On our return, we cruised through the picturesque Marigot Bay, famous for its lush green hills and as a filming location for movies. We didn’t disembark but soaked in the views before heading back to the cruise terminal.

🍴 Evening on Marella Voyager
Back on board, we cooled off with an ice-cold Piton lager at the Caribbean Pirates Bar near the cruise pier. Later, we dined at Vista on Deck 5, Marella Voyager’s elegant Italian restaurant. 🍝🍷 The food was delicious, and it’s all included in your package!

✨ Evening Entertainment
After dinner, we sipped Prosecco at Flutes (Deck 5), enjoyed live piano music, and headed to The Arts House (Deck 6) for live singing and cocktails. We finished the night dancing at The Electric Rooms (Deck 12) with their signature speciality cocktails – a fabulous end to a fantastic day! 🎶🍹

💬 Our Thoughts on the Excursion
We loved the experience but wished for:

More time at Pigeon Island – 25 minutes wasn’t enough to fully explore.
A closer view of the Pitons, which was a bit underwhelming from the distance.
Fewer people on the catamaran for a more intimate vibe.
Despite these points, it was well worth the money and is a great way to see St Lucia’s highlights.

Marigot Bay is often called “the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean.”
