On February 6, 2025, the McNay welcomed renowned architect and author Michael Imber for an illuminating discussion on the enduring art of architectural drawing, even in an era dominated by digital design tools.
The lecture, which was part of the Birdsong Brackenridge Birdhouse Exhibition conversation series, delved into the role of art in Imber's work; the relationship of man to buildings and the landscape; an understanding of place; and Imber's book, The Art of the Architect, which highlights the vital role of drawing and watercolor painting in the architectural process. The talk was followed by a book signing.
