In the Rajya Sabha election cross-voting row, six BJD MLAs have responded to the show-cause notices issued by the party, calling them arbitrary and illegal. The MLAs claimed they have not violated any party directive and demanded immediate withdrawal of the notices, warning that they may take legal action if needed.

The legislators asserted that the issuance of such notices is unjustified and defended their stance strongly, showing clear defiance (Nali Aakhiku Phu – ignoring intimidation). This has further intensified the political tension within the party.

Meanwhile, BJP has claimed that BJD may soon face internal cracks, while BJD has countered by stating that the party remains united despite the controversy surrounding cross voting.
