COLONA, Illinois—This week, we turn a spotlight on Sherry Hess, founder of The Flavor Remedy.
Sherry is helping teach the world about this fact, while exploring the bio-mechanical interactions between taste, nutrient density, and soil health. Her background in culinary arts, nutrition, soil health, and food manufacturing has inspired her mission to reconnect people with their innate ability to taste nutrition.
"Most people don't recognize that taste is the innate ability to detect nutrition," Hess said. "If you start to recognize the importance of that, it can be a game changer."
From stages and platforms around the world, including TedX, she reveals how revering taste can regenerating the food system. She spoke at the 2025 Advancing Food is Medicine (watch a replay here) and contributed to a Think Regeneration workshop in 2026 in southern Colorado.
