I Tried the Broken Cisterns (None but Christ) - A contemporary adaptation of the classic hymn “None But Christ” written by James McGranahan (b. Adamsville, PA, 1840; d. Kinsman, OH, 1907) — first published as NONE BUT CHRIST in Sacred Songs and Solos (1883).

This song is for anyone who’s ever tried to drink from “other wells” — success, pleasure, distractions, approval, religion without relationship — and found the water doesn’t last. Every other well runs dry… but Christ never fails.

Key line: “Where every other well runs dry, Your waters never fail.”
Jesus isn’t just a better option — He’s the Fountain of Living Water. And if you’re tired, thirsty, worn down, or searching, this is your invitation: Christ alone satisfies.
