Is Glencoe the most beautiful place in the Highlands of Scotland?
Glencoe is a stunning area of the Scottish Highlands, thought by many to be the most beautiful place in Scotland. I personally think that is a bold claim, however, I, like many, have been seduced by Glencoe and it is probably the place in Scotland we most like to visit due to its accessibility by road. The A82 highway cuts right through Glencoe and this video attempts to show some of the delights of the approach to Glencoe on the A82 from the south, the magnificence of Glen Coe itself and one of the An Torr forest trails by Signal Rock. The very accessibility of Glencoe leads to its great popularity, which is also its biggest downfall, in that the car parks at the viewpoints become very busy, unpleasantly so at times, so arriving as early as possible usually results in the best experience to absorb the magnificence of the mountain scenery.
