Midland/Airport Lines Perth to East Perth Closure (3rd - 6th March 2023)

Описание: Over the Labour Day long weekend, there were more major rail shutdowns with the entirety of the Armadale and Thornlie Lines closed, as well as the Midland and Airport Lines between Perth and East Perth. This is the first time that I know of that trains terminated at East Perth on a scheduled timetable. The closures were due to track work only on the small section between Perth and McIver, with some aging sleepers being replaced. Access to Claisebrook depot was cut off for the weekend, meaning that all lines were B-series exclusive with no A-series running all weekend! I have no idea where the trains running on the Midland and Airport Lines are stored, maybe at High Wycombe or in the Airport Line tunnels? Also, for no apparent reason, Fremantle and westbound Airport Line trains departed from platforms 8 and 9 at Perth Station instead of 6 and 7!

Unfortunately, the East Perth operations were so interesting I didn't have time to cover any aspects of the Armadale/Thornlie Line closures.
