Refoaming the Pioneer HPM 700 Graphite woofers

Описание: Please read, We bought these lovely Pioneer HPM700s on ebay as the owner thought they were no good anymore. Both woofers had the surrounds perished and the cones were flopping around. I had seen refoaming but never tried it so I thought I would give it a go. It's a long process. It took around 6 hours for each one so that is why it's expensive to have someone else do it. The HPM700 is a graphite cone so it's very fragile like an eggshell and will shatter if you are not careful. When work was complete I did a sound test and unlike many on youtube I resisted the temptation to whack up the volume. All you get is a load of distorted buzzing. Anyone who has ever owned any HPMs will know that they can shake the foundations. There is a little bit of top end clipping as the mic on the video camera struggles with the sound output and the treble control was up high but it shows the ultra sharp clarity of the tweeters and super tweeters. Drums and cymbals sound especially bright and although it is not picked up by the mic, the bass is astounding. Now they are finished my girlfriend said they are too big for our living room so they are for sale. Due to copyright problems with WMG I had to remove the original video as it had song clips on it. I will be adding some separate clips with music tests soon. I purchased the repair kit from Simplyspeakers.com as those guys are very helpful and they have a repair kit for most makes and models.
